THE SCENE: Chilly temperatures served to set the magical stage for an evening of classically modern elegance honoring two German Club debutantes, Sophie Larkin and Haley King.

THE VIBE: Reminiscent of a 1940’s dinner dance, the glamour of the evening was evident upon arrival as guests made their way past hundreds of flickering candles lining the long entry hall of San Antonio Country Club. Further enhancing the elegant ambience created for the ball were spectacular floral creations by Danny Cuellar of Trinity Flowers. Upon ascending the grand staircase, special guests from all over the country, including King’s hometown of Corpus Christi, knew without a doubt that this would be a night to remember. Party-goers enjoyed blues guitar by Grammy®-Award winning musician Keb’Mo and his band with music by Mo’Sul. To cap off an already fabulous evening, guests were treated to a jaw-dropping surprise performance by Miss Larkin, a very talented jazz singer in her own right.

THE CAUSE: The San Antonio German Club, formed in 1880 has presented its debutantes during San Antonio’s social season each year since its inception. The 2014-15 German Club President is Paul Arthur Rohlfs, Jr.
