To prove just how bright the stars of South Texas are, the Witte Museum hosted a fabulous evening under the stars for the opening of the Robert J. and Helen C. Kleberg South Texas Heritage Center. Celebrating major donors to the $10.5 million building, a Who’s Who of South Texas ranching were in attendance for the Center gives a permanent home to the vast collection of interactive exhibits, art, artifacts, and performances that depict the unique history of South Texas.
As the Palomino Patrol holding Texas flags greeted the more than 350 guests, they made their way into the Center’s new Ewing Halsell Hall for cocktails and hor d’ oeuvres. The evening progressed outside to the Jessica and Henry Catto Memorial Gardens, where they dined alfresco on cuisine by the RK Group and kicked up their heels to the Cactus Country band in the Will Smith Amphitheater…followed by a grand finale of fireworks over the San Antonio River.
