THE SCENE: It was a perfect day at the home of Paige and Tilman Fertitta for over 400 supporters to enjoy the sold-out inaugural Hats, Hearts & Horseshoes event benefiting Bo’s Place. The Kentucky Derby themed afternoon attracted fashionably attired ladies and gentlemen who mixed and mingled while enjoying mint juleps and watching The Kentucky Derby on the large screens sprinkled around the party. If you could not be at Churchill Downs, this event was definitively the next best thing.
THE VIBE: Guests were entertained from the moment of arrival with a champagne greeting. The statement hats made for perfect people-watching and guests socialized throughout the grounds enjoying tastings from Garrison Brothers Bourbon, Avion Tequila, Glenfiddich Scotch, Cabaud and Decimus wines, Perrier Jouet and mint juleps. A giving tree, racing wall raffle, and auction entertained guests. Tables covered with a variety of tasty food selections enticed the partygoers and one of the most popular items, Pop Brother’s Popsicles from Fertitta’s popular TV show Billion Dollar Buyer, were a hit the entire day.
THE CAUSE: Chairs Megan and Luke Hotze and Hannah and Cal McNair and honorary chairs Meredith and Patrick Chastang with Susan and Charlie Neuhaus were thrilled to raise over $350,000 for the organization. Bo’s Place exists to provide support and community to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. A non-profit, free-of-charge bereavement center, Bo’s Place offers multiple grief support services for adults, children and families, and provides education and resources for those who assist people in grief.
