Pat And Emmitt Smith Charities Breaks $1 Million Goal

THE SCENE: A crowd of more than 1,000 high-heeled women and dapperly dressed men gathered to support Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities’ seventh annual Friday Night Party. It was a star-studded night where sports and broadcasting celebrities celebrated in style to kick off the weekend of fundraising, which included sophisticated soirées as well as the Emmitt Smith Celebrity Invitational golf tournament.
THE VIBE: The red carpet at the Omni Dallas Hotel was abuzz with celebrities and friends like Melissa Rycroft Strickland, Vivica Fox, Cheryl Burke, Tony and Candice Romo, host Tom Bergeron, and many more. A highlight was Steve and Marjorie Harvey being presented the Roger Staubach Award during the dinner by Pat and Emmitt Smith. Afterward, students from the Team 22 Mentoring program mingled with guests, and everyone danced the night away to tunes by The O’Jays and Emerald City.
THE CAUSE: Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities was founded to provide educational programming for underserved children. The eventful evening and fundraising weekend raised more than $1.2 million for Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities, whose proceeds will fund summer camps, afterschool programs, college tuition and other educational programming that impacts more than 25,000 children each year.
