THE SCENE: Three incredible evenings at Houston’s Silver Street Studios were recently the setting for cutting edge fashion. Honoring the outstanding women, Caroline Knapp, Hannah McNair, Joanna Marks, and Lucinda Loya who help make Houston the worldwide style mecca it has become, the city’s top emerging designers presented stunning collections showcasing their depth of talent. Fashion X Houston, presented by Cadillac, dazzled over 1,500 members of the stylish community. This debut event is an expansion of founder Matt Swinney’s successful Fashion X Dallas and Austin Fashion Week.
THE VIBE: The chic crowd wore a perfect blend of cutting edge artistic flair and cocktail attire. Everyone expressed their imaginative style, feeling welcome and “in fashion,” creating a fun and festive atmosphere throughout the three evenings. Whether posing for photos on the red carpet, shooting an eight second video courtesy of Cadillac, or visiting the Chloe Wines VIP lounge, this fashionable set rubbed-elbows with the fashion designers who were on hand to present during the tour-de-fashion. Each evening featured approximately ten runway collections from top local and national designers, including several alumni from the hit Lifetime show Project Runway. Guests were treated to cutting edge fashion with something for everyone: for the young to the young at heart, from street wear to ball gowns.
THE CAUSE: Fashion X Houston announced The Style Setter honors, bestowed unto Houston women who are known for their show-stopping flair and their devotion to give back to the community. A portion of the proceeds honoring Thursday evening’s Style Setter Caroline Knapp benefitted Heroes for Children, while a portion of the proceeds on Friday evening’s Style Setters Hannah McNair and Joanna Marks benefitted The Periwinkle Foundation, and a portion of the proceeds on Saturday evening’s Style Setter Lucinda Loya benefitted Children’s Assessment Center.
