It is a tradition in Austin, and it never disappoints. Over a thousand of Austin’s chicest turned out for the 21st annual Evening Under the Stars, supporting The Elizabeth Ann Seton Board at the West Austin Youth Association.
Chaired by Jennifer Goldman and Laurel Hooper, the gala raises funds for the three Seton Community Health Centers: Seton Kozmetsky, Seton McCarthy and Seton Topfer. These clinics provide accessible and comprehensive health services to the under resourced and uninsured in Austin.
Guests arrived in their Austin Chic attire against a backdrop of Chris Austin Martinez performing acoustic tunes. Attendees sipped on cocktails and perused silent auction items, which used smart phone technology via the app BidPal, allowing guests to track their favorite silent auction items and bid from anywhere at the event. Then guests gathered at their tables for a fabulous meal, which was followed by a live auction featuring a once-in-a-lifetime weeklong trip on a 46 foot catamaran, a quail and dove hunting trip for four in a King Air to Horizon Bank’s El Mesquite Camp.
After the silent auction, the lucky participants were treated to live musical performance by country music superstar Randy Travis, who brought down the house with his legendry musical talents. As the evening began to draw to a close, guests danced to music by DJ Hear No Evil, capping off a magical evening of philanthropic laughter, fun and music.
