Roaring 20’s-Themed Andy Roddick Foundation Gala Raises Funds For Low Income Youth

THE SCENE: Austin’s legendary Driskill Hotel was the scene of a roaring good time recently, 1920’s Style. The Andy Roddick Foundation gala transformed the mezzanine of the grand dame hotel was into a beautiful 1920’s speakeasy club where the band Vintage 15 performed, while the ballroom became a casino since gambling was a favorite pastime of the 1920’s.
THE VIBE: The hip crowd wore their best 1920’s era costumes for the occasion including many women who dazzled in flapper costumes – there was even an Albert Einstein sighting and Andy Roddick himself donned a vintage baseball uniform ensuring everyone was in the spirit.
THE CAUSE: This years event, chaired raised over finds for The Andy Roddick Foundation, which provides services for youth in low income communities with education and sports-based mentoring to reach their full potential.
