THE SCENE: Fundraising, shoes and bags, oh my! Austin’s Four Seasons Hotel was the site of the 7th Annual Heart and Sole Luncheon where the ballroom foyer was transformed into a high-end shoe and purse boutique. A swirl of Sociables bid on chic jewelry, designer purses, and shoes… all in the name of good fun, fashion, and fundraising.
THE VIBE: Lively and spirited, guests arrived early to scope their favorite items on which to bid. The list of labels was a cavalcade of the top designers including Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co., Zink, Bob Salon, W by George, Dillard’s, Ralph Lauren, Kendra Scott and Michael Kors. Guests then adjourned to the ballroom where emcees Daniel Esquivel and Matt Swinney led a lively auction followed by an adorable father/child fashion show. Steve and Donna Hicks, accompanied by their grandson Ronen, concluded the festivities, offering a touching speech and tribute about how much the Rise School has meant to them personally, as well as the Austin community.
THE CAUSE: Heart and Sole, co-chaired by Becky Cook, Kathy Mervin and Venus Strawn, raised nearly $200,000 for the Rise School Austin, which provides quality early childhood education for children with a diverse range of learning abilities.
