Known for his elaborate metalwork, distinctive style and unparalleled craftsmanship, acclaimed jewelry designer Alex Soldier again collaborated with the Princess Grace Foundation-USA for the fifth consecutive year to create the 2013 Princess Grace Award. Soldier also designed blue topaz earrings for Princess Charlene of Monaco, in attendance at the awards, which were presented at the 31st Anniversary Princess Grace Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan.

Soldier created the award to present to this year’s Prince Rainier III Award winner, actress Cicely Tyson. The Prince Rainier III Award recognizes a celebrated artist whose own outstanding artistry is coupled with a desire to encourage and nurture the next generation of performing artists. For the awards, Soldier designed a stunning work of art incorporating symbols that represent all three disciplines that were close to Princess Grace’s heart and lauded by the foundation: theater, dance, and film. Collections of Alex Soldier’s stunning jewelry are currently sold at select Neiman Marcus department stores, including San Antonio, as well as high-end boutiques worldwide.
