THE SCENE:  More than 550 attendees enjoyed the opening reception of the 10th Annual San Antonio Botanical Garden gala, Splendor In The Garden, honoring the Circle Bar Foundation and its three decades of support for children’s programming at the Botanical Garden. Guests entered through the award-winning Children’s Vegetable Garden, then strolled through the Garden for a seated dinner beneath a soaring white tent at the Garden’s entrance.

THE VIBE: In celebration of a transformative era for the Garden, guests were invited to tour the ongoing construction of an eight-acre expansion of the Botanical Garden, to open next May. The Garden will soon have a new entrance, new gardens (including a Culinary Garden and Family Adventure Garden), and new programming that encourages visitors to learn about the natural world and reap the benefits of health, wellness and nutrition.

THE CAUSE: Gala chairs Robin and Mark Howard, Belinda and Will Nixon, and Alice and John Troy organized the event honoring the Circle Bar Foundation, along with committee members Meta and Boo Hausser, Lisa and Mike Kelleher, and Vicki and John McLaughlin. The San Antonio Botanical Garden strives to connect people to the plant world through experience, education, and research.
