The Ballet Fete’ was in full swing and this year’s chair, Ava Late, and her steering committee created a triumphant gala evening. It was definitely the place to be in town that night when Ballet Austin’s annual gala graced the ballroom, foyer and rooftop of the W Hotel for a fundraising event benefitting the company’s community education programs that reach over 57,000 central Texans each year.
The evening featured artful eats and drinks provided by the W Austin, Julian Gold, and Whole Foods Market. Guests enjoyed live entertainment from romantic Austin vocal artist Ava Aranella, Grammy Winning jazz artist Kurt Elling, and danced under the starts to beats from DJ Manny and DJ Orion.
A grand repast was served in the Great Room of the W while guests were inspired by Norton Wisdom’s words on Artistic Strokes of Genius. Following the repast was a live auction and dessert, where guests of Fete’ and the after party, Fetish were invited to explore the four Ballet Barre studios while savoring treats such as grown-up ice cream shakes, grilled-to-order paninis and pad thai in the various lounges on the moonlit terrace. The event partnered Ballet Austin in a leap towards success, raising a total of $308,000 for the organization. Now that’s good work in action for a fine cause.
