Summer is upon us and while shopping for warm weather attire is top of mind, at North Star Mall, so is giving. At the second annual North Star Gives event, guests were recently inspired by the Spring fashions presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, and by the outstanding services of six substantial San Antonio women. Jana Bounds, Courtney Duphorne, Stacey Hill, Dore’ Koontz, Ana Montoya, Dacia Napier, M.D. and their chosen charitable organizations were each honored for their exceptional service to the community.

The event, presented by Volvo, selected one of the honorees and her charity as the overall winner of the night. Hilton Rabb, general manager at Volvo, presented each of the women with a Volvo key, but only the winning key would start the car. Dore’ Koontz held that lucky key and not only was she presented with a $1,000 check for her chosen charity, AugustHeart.

With a continued dedication to community, the shopping mecca’s now signature North Star Gives event will continue to celebrate those who have made San Antonio a better place to live, work and do business for years to come. North Star Mall is most widely recognized by its iconic 40 foot cowboy boots. As one of the world’s first enclosed shopping malls, today it is one of the most successful retail centers in the country. So, what are you waiting for? Shop there today.
