THE SCENE: The Crown Jewels of Vienna, the theme of the 2017 Symphony Ball, brought to life an era of days gone by on a beautiful evening in the heart of San Antonio’s outlying Hill Country. The San Antonio Symphony League’s Symphony 47th annual gala and Belle presentation was held at The J.W. Marriott San Antonio Resort and Spa where this year’s bevy of belles were presented at this year’s event chaired by Jill and Dr. George J. Vassar. Mike Osterhage served as master of ceremonies for the evening.
THE VIBE: The presentation, with Viennese musical selections by the Symphony itself, set the stage for a magical evening as the young ladies in white took their bows toward entering society. The guests were treated to music by The Youth Orchestras of San Antonio. Following the presentation, guests enjoyed a lively evening of dinner and dancing.
THE CAUSE: The Symphony League President for this year is Freddie Cervera III. By way of its support, the San Antonio Symphony League preserves and promotes the live performance of Symphony music for the San Antonio area. To date, the League’s annual Symphony Ball raises over one million dollars to benefit the San Antonio Symphony.
