Greta Elizabeth Kuper, daughter of Caroline & Ricky Kuper, and Cory Alexander Stehr, son of Barbara and Tim Stehr, recently exchanged vows in San Antonio among their family and friends from across the country.
The intimate rehearsal dinner, held for 50 out of town guests (most from California) offered a taste of San Antonio at the Casa Alicia venue and patio of La Fonda, the couple’s favorite Tex-Mex destination. The festive themed decorations by Regina Rocha included authentic Mexican touches, and custom Tex Mex cookies with guests’ names as place settings for a personalized feel.
The wedding was held in the ballroom of the San Antonio Country Club. The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier dress from the designer’s spring runway collection, with a custom crystal hair vine which completed the bride’s dream look exactly as she had always envisioned. She was attended by two bridesmaids, her sisters Clara and Georgia Kuper, as well as bridesmaids from Texas and California: Kaki Gaines, Charlotte Carlson, Laurel Rittenhouse, Anna Fregosi, Nicole Fox, Checka Propper, Katie Burroughs and Jessica Stehr. The groom was attended by his best man Anthony Lora, his closest confidant and cousin, as well as groomsmen Luke Thompson, Trevor Pickhart, Chris Dvoracek, Bobby Hannah, Cole Martens, Jonathan Pinzon, Danny Velasquez, and the bride’s brothers J Kuper and Collins Kuper.
The nuptials evoked a theme of whimsical romance and organic natural beauty. Monica Gose helmed the event planning, alongside the bride herself, who had experience having previously planned events at Neiman Marcus. The florals evoked a secret garden or Midsummer Night’s Dream, with effusive greenery, rich saturated jewel tone colors and organic arrangements.
After the couple exchanged vows, the reception followed on the grass outside the Terrace Room of the San Antonio Country Club, where twinkling lights strung above from the gorgeous trees illuminated the night sky. Inspired by the Queen’s Garden Party during Fiesta the previous spring, the outdoor setting gave the reception an open and fresh invigorating feeling. Guests mixed and mingled as they made their way around the venue, taking in the décor, the food and the evening.
With tunes provided by Austin’s party band Plush, the dance floor was packed with friends and family dancing all through the night. The revelers even overflowed onto the grass as members of the band joined the crowd on the dance floor for interactive performances. A late-night treat of Kahlua milkshakes and chocolate chip cookies (Cory’s favorite dessert) fueled the celebration late into the night.
After the wedding festivities, the newlyweds took a mini-moon to Cabo San Lucas, at the romantic Las Vantanas del Paraiso, after re-adjusting for a few days in Los Angeles. The couple will reside in Los Angeles, California, where Cory, originally from Burbank California, graduate of California State Northridge, is a commercial real estate broker. Greta, from San Antonio, Texas, graduate of University of Texas and Loyola Marymount, is a luxury consignment consultant.
