THE SCENE: The Austin estate of businessman and philanthropist David Booth was the setting of an evening that featured amazing wine, terrific cuisine, sparkling company and most importantly, fundraising for mental illness research, a cause that touches so many families.

THE VIBE: The Austin-chic crowd felt right at home the moment they walked into Booth’s beautiful home. Guests were invited to explore the beautiful grounds and art collection while enjoying wines courtesy of Napa Valley’s Staglin Vineyards. The festivities continued as guests were seated for dinner at a long continental-style table and enjoyed a multi-course meal paired with various vintages from Staglin Vineyards. The conversation flowed effortlessly and featured a wide range of topics, including stories of how a loved one’s mental illness has personally impacted their lives. The supportive environment raised both awareness and encouragement for all who turned out for this special evening at one of the city’s most noted residences.

THE CAUSE: The dinner at David Booth’s home, followed by a second event the next evening in Houston, raised over $100,000 for the One Mind Institute, which funds research dedicated to understanding the roots of psychiatric illness and discovering methods of healing. Since it’s founding in 1995, One Mind Institute has raised over $225 million for neuroscience research.
