Check out the hip happenings at the Blanton Museum of Art:

Kicking off their latest exhibition with seasonal flair, the Blanton transformed their Rapoport Atrium into a masquerade-themed ballroom complete with live music, lavish costumes, and interactive art. The swanky soirée was part of Blanton’s “B Scene” series  of curated celebrations that blend art, music and sophisticated socializing. This fall’s theme was inspired by “exquisite corpse,” an artistic parlor game made famous by Parisian surrealists of the 1920’s.

Sponsored in part by Big Medium, one of Austin’s biggest arts organizations, the event highlighted Blanton’s newest exhibition: James Drake: Anatomy of Drawing and Space (Brain Trash), on view until January 4, 2015. Big Medium was in attendance to promote their upcoming event, EAST East Austin Studio Tours, a large-scale open studio tour that celebrates Austin’s local art scene. EAST tour will be a unique opportunity for connoisseur collectors and casual appreciators alike.

If you missed out this party, don’t fret — you can sign up to receive updates by visiting the Blanton Museum website. Keep an eye out for the next  B-Scene early next year. And for the black tie set, don’t miss Blanton’s “Off the Wall” gala next February 7, 2015.
