The opening of the Eilan Hotel Resort & Spa in the Hill Country of San Antonio was without a doubt, one of the most extravagant events to kick off the summer season in San Antonio.  Let’s face it. It’s dazzling. The 120-acre mixed-use development contains high-end residences, retail and commercial space. The resort consists of 165-guestrooms and suites, it is located in one of San Antonio’s newest luxurious prime locations nestled between the Shops at La Cantera and The Rim.

Guests have access to a wide array of features including a state of the art fitness center with lap pool and golf simulation room; 24-hour in-room dining; spa facilities with 10 unique treatment rooms; six private lush gardens; solar powered trolley; outdoor pool; exquisite event and executive meeting facilities; and a signature dining experience by chef Stephan Pyles at his new restaurant, Sustenio, featuring modern southwestern cuisine.  How’s that for new and cool?

“We are excited to open Éilan Hotel Resort & Spa as a premier destination for both international and domestic travelers, as well as the residents of San Antonio,” says the property’s General Manager Ellen Seymore. “The arrival of the hotel fills a niche in San Antonio offering guests a new luxury travel and dining experience. The hotel offers a travel option complete with resort facilities, while successfully showcasing sustainable practices without impacting the level of service or quality of product.

The opening night had guests greeted by valet and upon check-in they were given a “Passport” which also doubled as their itinerary and map to discover each fabulous location of the resort. The cuisine and beverage stations highlighted a sampling of signature items from Sustenio and Piatti, a restaurant opening in the Fall. Guests hopped on a trolley that lined the facility where everyone stopped to snap photos while viewing the property, including a beautifully decorated residence model with gorgeous views of the Hill Country.

Then, guests sauntered to the outdoor resort pool which was complete with a live band serenading Sinatra while margaritas flowed freely. The pool area features a full fireplace, wet bar, kiddie pool, hot tub, and full-size locker rooms. Then it was on to the ballroom where they were serving pasta and pastries from Sustenio. Guests saw a dance performance by Dancing With The Stars’ sensational Corky Ballas in the IDanceCity facility. Beyond that was the resident’s clubhouse.  Event rooms may be reserved including the use of flat screen TV’s, a full kitchen and tables, along with a cozy living room with a fireplace and piano. There are balcony views overlooking the property which will take your breath away.

At the end of the evening, guests were gifted  with gold tote bags that included a purple embroidered towel with the Eilan logo, specialty baked cookies by Eilan’s Executive Pastry Chef, a customized Eilan Hotel pen, and a voucher to a dance class at their IDanceCity facility. We’d say that the opening festivities at Elian were a huge success and new guests and visitors will be similarly enthralled with their own experience.
