THE SCENE: The Austin’s Convention Center was the scene of an enlightening evening of fun and worthy cause. Why? For the annual Dell Children’s Hospital Rays of Light gala that attracted over 1,200 of Austin’s Sociables for an enlightening evening. In fact, it kicked off Austin’s spring social season.

THE VIBE: Upon entering the second floor foyer one could tell the light-filled theme was the perfect title for such a well-heeled, dapper group of the local social elite, who mingled and jingled about discussing everything from recent holiday escapades to anticipation of the exceptionally fun night on which they were about to embark. As the party moved into the ballroom, guests dined on cuisine while listening to various families provide testimonials as to how Dell Children’s Hospital has positively impacted their lives, as well as a spirited live auction. The event’s room was accentuated with David Kurio’s all-white flower towers. As the Ray of Light evening concluded, the after party featured a Vegas style casino night… the perfect “light-cap” to a perfect evening.

THE CAUSE: The event, chaired by Sabrina and Jay Brown raised a record $1.5 million dollars for Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas, which helps fund medical equipment and technology to maintain its status as one of the top children’s hospitals in the world.
