THE SCENE: There was cheering, confetti poppers, and tossed roses to the stars on the runway at this over-the-top event. There were 17 “celebrity” male models, including Houston Texans football players like J.J. Watt, Owen Daniels, Duane Brown, Kareem Jackson, Bo’sPlace Board Members and other Houston VIPs who donned the latest fashions from Festari for Men at this annual event. Plus, Texan’s quarterback Matt Schaub received a heartfelt standing ovation from the supportive crowd.
THE VIBE: As is tradition, guests of Festari for Men’s 16th Annual Una Notte in Italia enjoyed all things Italian including, a multi-course Italian dinner, wine, dancing and live auction. Gorgeous red roses inspired the centerpieces in the Omni Houston Hotel ballroom, which were then used to throw at the male models on the catwalk.
THE CAUSE: Event co-chairs Diane Caplan and Megan Sutton-Reed and honorary chairs Debbie and Rudy Festari raised over $380,000 for Bo’s Place, a non-profit bereavement center offering grief support services to children, ages 3 to 18, and their families. The organization also provides an information and referral line, and training and workshops for those who assist people in grief.
