THE SCENE: Over 600 of Houston’s dignitaries, consular corps and community-minded business leaders gathered at Hotel Zaza for a night of entertainment, culinary delights, and world-class silent auction to celebrate the Greater Houston Partnership. This annual gala showcases the Houston region as a center of commerce, influence, arts and culture. This year’s theme, Treasure Houston: Illuminating our Hidden Gems, highlighted the many gems of Houston including the region’s renowned arts and culture scene, excellent quality of life, dynamic industry and innovative spirit.

THE VIBE: Guests experienced a culinary journey and discovered the many cultures of Houston through music, entertainment and dancing. Specialty cuisine by Executive Chef Jeff Axline was paired with beverages from around the world, including a flavored vodka bar, sushi display and wide variety of desserts. Guests even tried their hand in the casino and enjoyed sketch artists and fortune tellers as interactive entertainment.

THE CAUSE: The evening shed light on an issue that greatly impacts our region: workforce development. Designed to address this issue, the Partnership’s UpSkill Houston initiative is an innovative blueprint for leaders to build a quality middle-skills workforce to remain competitive across the globe.
