LEGENDARY VOICE

CARIBBEAN QUEEN

Emerging from the small art world of San Juan in the mid 19th century, Francisco Oller travelled to Europe to learn a range of techniques, then returned to the Caribbean to revolutionize painting in his native Puerto Rico. REFLECTIVE FOREST

Lucky Dragons, an artistic collaboration from Los Angeles, present an on-site installation in the woodsy Laguna Gloria park. BOTTICELLI TO BRAQUE

ASIAN AESTHETIC

Japanese Avant-Garde comes to the Dallas Museum of Art with vivid color, vibrant movement and daring compositions that make for a remarkable exhibition by Kazuo Shiraga and Sadamasa Motonaga. Drawing from the best collections in Japan, this exhibition highlights the artists’ experimental and innovative production from the postwar avant-garde period to their 21st century masterworks.
