THE SCENE: The Peninsula Paris put on the most stylish and glamorous party of the year to celebrate its grand opening, with a star-studded guest list comprising international celebrities, guests from around the world and “le tout Paris.” Celebrities include Zhang ZiYi, François Cluzet, La Princesse Anna of Bourbon des Deux Siciles, Christopher Thompson, Laurence Ferrari, Jean-Roch and Yaffa Assouline.
THE VIBE: At the historical staircase in the reception lobby, the Orchestre de Colonne greeted guests with lively tunes as they made their way to a lavish dinner featuring exquisite entrees and world-class pastries. For the event over 1,800 bottles of champagne and wine were opened, and 9,000 roses adorned the dining room. Singer and actress Lou Lesage and DJ Cécile Togni appeared in the lobby, which was transformed into a dance floor for the night. Meanwhile, the signature rooftop L’Oiseau Blanc restaurant and terrace saw guests partying under the stars to the music of the Something A La Mode band and well-known DJ Gostan.
THE CAUSE: The Peninsula Paris first opened its doors in 2014 and is The Peninsula Hotel’s first location in Europe. The momentous occasion was marked by speeches by The Honourable Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, and Mr. Christopher R. J. Knable, Chief Operating Officer of Katara Hospitality.
