The Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association in San Antonio collaborated for the children this past fall, hosting their 16th annual Kappa Tablescapes luncheon at the San Antonio Country Club. This year’s event benefited the St. Peter-St. Joseph’s Children’s home and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. The artist who was honored at the luncheon is iconic New York author and designer Bunny Williams. She has founded Treillage, Ltd., a primary source for the world’s best garden design and home objects, as well as Beeline Home, a source for exceptional interior pieces.
A wine reception the evening before the event offered a sneak peek before the luncheon. Star-studded designers, event planners, and businesses collaborated to fashion the extravagant tables for the event. Among the 40 designers were Julian Gold, Danny Cuellar of Trinity Flowers, Danny Spears and Oscar Morales of Land of Was, Steven Pizzini of Pizzini Designs; Carroll Dorsey Walker of Bejewel, Botanika, Elaine Turner, Invitations, Etc., Ranch at the Rim, and Smart Barre. Others collaborated with designers to create their tables, and among the tablescaping teams were Neiman Marcus designed by Keller Henderson as well as Karen Heydenreich and Corkscrew Vintage Varieties.
The event was a tremendous success, thanks to the support of the luncheon’s leadership and its major sponsors. Co-chairing the event were Ann Himoff and Lauren McLaughlin, while Lisa Barfield Kopecky, president of the San Antonio Alumnae Association, assisted the co-chairs in executing the flawless event. Among the event sponsors were Central Market, Frost Bank, McCombs Foundation, Mission Park Funeral Homes, and VIP Staffing. The beneficiary, St. Peter-St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, has been serving orphaned children in the San Antonio community since 1869. You can bet the ciity’s designers are already conjuring ideas for next year’s event.
