THE SCENE: Recently at the Southwest School of Art it was a full house of elegant gala patrons and their guests in the beautiful McNutt Gardens and Coates Chapel that provided the picturesque backdrop for both the gala dinner and the art sale, sponsored by Ernst & Young.
THE VIBE: Guests sipped cocktails while strolling through the stunning Coates chapel to view the various works of art available for purchase. Fabulous décor, lighting, music and a sumptuous meal provided by Club Giraud all set the tone for a perfect al fresco evening. Following the limited-edition raffle and brief auction, the festivities continued late into the night as the after party sponsored by Neiman Marcus San Antonio put the finishing touch on an already-stellar gala.
THE CAUSE: Elise Boyan, Jyl and Randy Cain, Paula Owen and Cari Hill presided over the evening as the event’s co-chairs, board of trustee chair and president. The Southwest School of Art warmly thanks all of the many gala sponsors, patrons, artists, businesses and others who so generously gave to the School through this event. The mission of The Southwest School of Art (SSA) is to teach, preserve and advance the visual arts including the BFA degree program, the Adult Studio Program, the Young Artist Programs, and the Exhibitions Program. The school preserves the former Ursuline Convent and Academy as a place of historic significance.
