THE SCENE: TACA (The Arts Community Alliance) recently celebrated its 50th anniversary at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. The evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a luxuriously decorated, outdoor, air-conditioned tent. Following a live auction, guests enjoyed a delectable seated dinner throughout the Mansion’s labyrinth of stunning interior spaces.
THE VIBE: The event welcomed close to 300 guests and introduced the world premiere performance of Celebration, which featured the talent of Bruce Wood Dance, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Dark Circles Contemporary Dance. The troupes, which are three of TACA’s grantees, presented a stunning performance set to a medley of Stevie Wonder songs.
The CAUSE: Co-chairs Wanda Gierhart and Dean Fearing helmed the event. Established in 1967, The Arts Community Alliance supports excellence and impact in the arts through grant-making, capacity building, and thought leadership. TACA envisions an innovative, inclusive, sustainable cultural sector, recognized for its essential contribution to a vibrant, prosperous community.
