The social scene in Dallas has gone full tilt this spring. Come to think of it, when is it ever not moving at the speed of light? Our newest contributor, Cynthia Smoot of Ohsocynthia.com, gives us an inside look at city’s hottest events and chicest people.
DINE: ALL HAIL THE KING
Henry’s Majestic is currently ruling the culinary scene thanks to General Manager, Roe DiLeo, who recently survived Season 13 of Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay. Menu highlights include a Spicy Shrimp appetizer and a Marrow Spiked Burger. Behind the bar, you’ll find lead bartender Alex Fletcher creating craft cocktails from seasonal and locally sourced produce. Ladies, order my favorite champs cocktail – the Scarlet Begonia. You’ll thank me later. 4900 McKinney Ave. At HenrysMajestic.com
SHOP: AIR-TIGHT GLAM
Helmed by sisters Shannon VanBeber and Melani McDougal, BelAir has become a resource for those looking for unusual, unique and exclusive items in the areas of home decor, furniture, clothing and accessories. Limited by space restrictions at their former bungalow location, they jumped at the opportunity to move a few doors up the road into a larger two-story space on Lover’s Lane. The 2,300 square foot house is packed with lines that are beautiful, functional, and just plain cool. Price tags also appeal with most items in the $350 and under range. At Belairhomedallas.com
GIVE: PRETTY IN PINK
More than 750 attendees gathered at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center on February 17 and opened their hearts (and their wallets) for the 2015 Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Led by chair Lisa Singleton, the leadership team raised more than $505,000 for the North Texas Chapter of LLS. The money raised by the event will help further the LLS mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
