This autumn the place to be is in Dallas, as stylish girl-on-the-scene Cynthia Smoot of Ohsocynthia.com shares the coolest events, shops and eateries in the city
When I think of Morocco, I see bright colors swirling around the hips of sexy belly dancers and smell sensuous spices in my mind. Souk has done a great job of transporting the look of a Moroccan Bistro and Bazaar directly from the Atlas Mountains to Dallas’ newest dining and entertainment destination, Trinity Groves. The restaurant features a delectable Mediterranean and Moroccan menu comprised of tagines (stews), spreads, kabobs, salads, and flatbreads. Want to kick date night up a notch? Stop by on a Friday or Saturday evening to find belly dancers gliding around the place and partake in a hookah. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday. 3011 Gulden Lane in Dallas. 469.458.2233. It’s A Jungle Out There
Missy Payne, star of Survivor San Juan del Sur, Season 29, hosted the inaugural “It’s A Jungle Out There” benefit recently at Lofty Spaces. Fans of competition reality TV had a chance mix and mingle with former players from Survivor, The Amazing Race, Big Brother, Dancing With The Stars, The Bachelor/Bachelorette and more. Following the dinner, the party moved outside where celebrities competed in challenges (similar to those seen on Survivor) while party patrons placed bets on teams to win. Jodi Wincheski from The Amazing Race was the last woman standing and was named the night’s Ultimate Survivor. Rising Nashville star Baylor Wilson, who also happens to be Payne’s daughter and fellow Survivor contestant, capped the night with a live performance. Funds benefitted Cheer For Your Life, which empowers youth by providing supportive funding for athletic programs, performance based programs and service projects.
