Design guru Jonathan Adler made his first trip to Austin where he visited his newly-opened Austin store and signed copies of his new book “A 100 Ways to Happy Chic Your Life” and we were there. Hosted by Mark Erwin, Rob Giardinelli, The Society Diaries’ Lance Avery Morgan, Stephen Rice, Paul Scott and Scott Simons, the evening was filled with fabulous cocktails, decadent homemade brownies flown in from Manhattan specifically for the fête, and holiday tunes were spun to get the 500 guests in the shopping mood.

The evening provided attendees with an opportunity to visit with Jonathan Adler, get a book personally inscribed, and to purchase chic design elements for their own homes. Adler’s store is the perfect atmosphere for mixing and mingling about home furnishing design. Guests were surrounded by hand-crafted sofas, one of a kind designed chandeliers, festive accessories, and colorful embroidered pillows that would make Betsy Ross envious.

To top off the evening, Jonathan Adler generously donated a portion of the proceeds from that evening’s sales to the Octopus Club, an all-volunteer organization, with 100% of the event’s proceeds went directly to the Paul Kirby Emergency Assistance Fund at AIDS Services of Austin. The event may have had to come to an end, but there is no end in sight of guests living a more chic lifestyle thanks to Jonathan Adler and his new store opening in Austin.
