San Antonio Public Library Foundation Hosts Anniversary Gala

THE SCENE: On a recent evening the San Antonio Public Library Foundation celebrated the 20th anniversary of its brightly-colored central location with a brilliantly executed gala. In commemoration of this grand milestone and in appreciation of late architect Ricardo Legorreta’s iconic Mexican Modern design, guests were invited to look to the future and laud the past as they enjoyed an evening to remember theme Under the Stars.

THE VIBE: Over 400 new and old friends alike mixed and mingled under spinning constellations projected to enhance the evening’s theme. The star-studded crowd enjoyed a sumptuous meal provided by San Antonio’s own star of the culinary arts, Rosemary Kowalski and the RK Group. Gala attendees enjoyed various forms of entertainment including Carnival-style dancing, music and more. The Neiman Marcus First Edition Mexican Mod After Party, with music supplied by Professor D, bites from the RK Goup and beverages from Milagro and El Mirador tequilas.

THE CAUSE: The event’s co-chairs were Liecie and Nick Hollis and Guillermo Nicolās. Honorary chairs were Martha and Wilbur Avant, Linda and Ed Whitacre and Tracy and Nelson Wolff. The Mission of the SAPLF is to support and increase the awareness and use of the facility through financial support and programmatic efforts, thereby enhancing the Community’s appreciation and utilization of the Library as a cultural and educational institution.
