Texas Film Hall of Fame Star-Filled Gala

It’s an event that kicks off one of the world’s premier entertainment festivals – right in our own backyard – and this year got a little more cosmopolitan. The 12th annual Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards, which kicks off Austin’s Annual SXSW Film, Music and Interactive Festival. This year’s event, held downtown Austin for the first time at the ACL Moody Theatre, featured a star-studded line up of celebrities from Texas and beyond.

This year’s event, benefitting the Austin Film Society as always, was co-chaired by Filmmaker Richard Linklater & business tycoon Jon Paul & Eloise DeJoria, featured a cavalcade of stars including, Matthew McConaughey, G.W. Bailey, Barry Corbin, Angie Dickinson, Meat Loaf and Caroline Rhea.

The evening began with the red carpet VIP Party where the famous and famous-adjacent mingled on the ACL patio, sipping delicious cocktails courtesy of Patron Spirits.  Guests gathered inside for the gala dinner and silent auction and concluded with a spectacular awards show, where vintage glamour girl Angie Dickinson accepted the “Star of Texas Award” on behalf of here iconic 1959 film Rio Bravo, and Meat Loaf was presented with the “Soundtrack Award”, which highlighted Texas’ enormous contribution to the film and music industry that bigger now than ever before. We are already looking forward to next year’s event, aren’t you?
