THE SCENE: It was all carnival fun and boardwalk games at the Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital (CMHH) third biennial Under the Boardwalk soirée. The festive event, hosted at The Royal Sonesta, honored CMHH’s Maternal Fetal Medicine team and corporate honoree H-E-B. Craig Cordola, Senior Vice President and Regional President-Central/West Region, Memorial Hermann Health System led the evening as emcee.
THE VIBE: This event catered to both young adults and the young at heart as games, games, and more games thrilled more than 500 guests, featuring a money grab machine, arcade favorite skee ball, and the very popular wine toss. The evening also included cocktails, food stations with gourmet boardwalk food fare, and dancing to the tunes of Password in a boardwalk-themed room decorated by A Memorable Event. A fun-filled big board action and signature raffle item donated by Thomas Markle Jewelers ensured that most left the event with a party favor to remember the evening.
THE CAUSE: Co-chairs Stacy and Jason Johnson, with Sarah and Max Mischer, choreographed the evening to make this year’s event the most successful CMHH event to date, raising more than $600,000. As advocates for the hospital, both couples serve on Memorial Hermann’s young professional group, Heroes in Health. Part of the 13-hospital Memorial Hermann Health System, the Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital is dedicated to maternal fetal medicine specializing in the care of women with high-risk pregnancy conditions, as well as babies diagnosed with fetal anomalies or genetic abnormalities.
