Ask for whatever you want

In an excerpt from the book, “Let’s Manifest Miracles!” by self improvement expert Clardy Malugen, we take a look at why asking is as important as receiving in all your pursuits. Here’s how…

Follow your bliss and the Universe will open doors where there were only walls.
Joseph Campbell

Over 90 percent of my seminar participants and private clients come to me complaining that they don’t have a clue what they want. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard the words, “That’s the problem. I just don’t know what I want.” My response to that comment is always the same. “Of course you know what you want. Everyone knows what they want. You’re just too busy focusing on what you don’t want.
You can’t see the roses for the weeds.”

They then fight me for a few minutes, telling me every reason, every excuse for why they don’t know what they want. There are some really good excuses, by the way. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard them all! But the bottom line is this: the magnificent being within you, the you that is truly you at your core, knows exactly what it wants. Whatever problem or challenge you are currently facing, you intuitively know the perfect outcome. Just trust me on this one. Take a deep breath and take a moment to bask in the light of your own magnificence. From that vantage point, you will not only know what you want, you will immediately start taking the steps to get there.

That being said, if you’re having trouble basking in the moment, we can try the back door. With so much negative energy out there these days, I know how hard it can be to disassociate yourself from the distress and the chaos. If you need a miracle in your life right now, let’s just calmly figure out what the perfect miracle would be and go about making it happen. And, let’s have some fun while we’re doing it.

Focus on the area of your life that you’d most like to shift. Let’s say you’ve lost your job or you’re afraid that you might. By the way, when you take a step back from the chaos that you’ve created around this possibility, you might suddenly realize that you’d actually like to change careers. Wow. What a great opportunity.

OK, so what do you want? Make a list describing the perfect career for you. If you find yourself wanting to talk about the things that you don’t want, just reframe every negative into a positive. Think about what would make you happy, what would make you feel good. Put your energy and your focus on happiness and the positive aspects of your new future opportunities.

For example, a recent client was tired of working in what she described as a boys club environment. In the workplace, she felt like she was excluded from the decision-making processes. We envisioned a new situation where she was highly respected as part of a dynamic, creative team of individuals who were excited about creating positive outcomes. We chose to focus our energy on this new exciting possibility, rather than rehashing the negatives of her current situation. And, sure enough, a headhunter somehow found her, after what seemed like a miraculous coincidence. But, sorry, no coincidences here… it is just the Universe doing its thing.

One of my favorite career stories is about a dear friend who was seeing changes in just about every area of her life. She came to me discouraged and very concerned about her future. Her job had ended, she was on unemployment, her divorce was final, and she was facing a new beginning unlike anything she had ever experienced. As she frantically sent out resumes, I suggested that we focus on getting a clear vision of what she wanted for a new career. She kept saying that she didn’t really know exactly what she wanted to do, so I suggested that she make a list of the things that she did know.

Her list went something like this: she wanted to do something creative, she wanted to make more money than she had been making, she wanted an office with a window, she wanted to work with interesting people, and she wanted to have a candy dish on her desk so that people would stop by all day and say hello. That’s all that she was sure of, but that was enough. At the time that we started focusing our energy on these things, neither of us had any idea what she was going to be doing or where the job would be located. We just visualized the items on the list and excitedly anticipated the results.

A couple of weeks later, a woman that she had worked with several years before called out of the blue and asked her to come to interview for a production assistant position at one of the top animation studios in the country. The rest is history.

She started a new career in animation, complete with the now-infamous candy dish, and has progressed up the ladder to a high-powered position working with some of the top animation directors in the world. The candy dish, alas, is no longer on her desk. She’s now too busy to chat. The candy dish has been moved to the kitchen of the new home that she manifested using these methods and she now enjoys candy with her new boyfriend…yet another manifestation story.

These simple techniques work equally well for magnetizing money, relationships, weight release, new homes, paid-off mortgages, whatever you want. The lesson here is that you don’t have to know exactly what your new career might be. You don’t have to know your future soul mate’s middle name or what color socks he or she wears—unless that’s truly important to you! You just have to know some of the details about what you want.

What do you love? What makes you feel good? What puts a smile on your face—and a glow in your heart? Ask yourself these questions, write down the answers, and then go about asking the universe for whatever you truly desire. The universe will figure out how to deliver. And, you’ll love it when it arrives.
