THE SCENE: The 2015 Alley Theatre Ball, inspired by Shakespeare’s contributions to the visual and performing arts, was an affair to remember. Nearly 600 guests attended the evening, which featured a performance by Jay Leno. Richard Flowers of The Events Company transformed NRG Stadium into a Shakespearean thicket with topiaries, trees and murals depicting the Hunt of the Unicorn, originally commissioned by Anne of Brittany to celebrate her marriage to King Louis XII.

THE VIBE: During cocktail hour the David Caceres Band filled the room with jazzy melodies, and guests surveyed the silent auction. Up for bid were trips to Paris, New York, and Costa Rica; and an experience driving a Formula One race car. Guests toasted honoree Margaret Alkek Williams as they enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Jackson and Company before laughing late into the night to the comedy of Jay Leno.

THE CAUSE: Mady and Ken Kades were the chairs of the evening festivities, including the auction that raised in excess of $1 million to benefit the Alley Theatre Education and Community Engagement Programs. After another successful soirée, Alley Theatre patrons are now looking forward to the re-opening of the newly renovated venue this fall.
